Where it appears

1 Chronicles · 2
  1. 1 Chronicles 6:14 יְהוֹצָדָֽק׃ Jehozadak

Azariah was the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak.

  2. 1 Chronicles 6:15 וִיהוֹצָדָ֣ק and Jehozadak

Haggai · 5
  1. Haggai 1:1 יְהוֹצָדָ֛ק Jehozadak

In the second year of the reign of Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, stating

Here: 'YHWH is righteous'. He was the priest taken into exile by Nebuchadnezzar (1 Chr 6:15) and son of Seraiah, the last chief priest of the first Temple, who was executed (2 Kgs 25:18–21). So Joshua's line connects the old Temple to the new one.

  2. Haggai 1:12 יְהוֹצָדָק֩ Jehozadak

Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.

Here: 'Yahweh is righteous.' He was son of Seraiah, the chief priest Nebuchadnezzar executed in 586 BC, and was taken into exile himself (2 Kgs 25:18–21; 1 Chr 6:14–15). Joshua is the heir of the pre-exilic priestly line.

  3. Haggai 1:14 יְהוֹצָדָק֙ Jehozadak

So the LORD stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and began the work on the house of the LORD of Hosts, their God,

Here: 'Yahweh is righteous.' He was the priest taken into exile in 586 BC, son of the chief priest Seraiah, whom Nebuchadnezzar executed (1 Chr 6:14–15; 2 Kgs 25:18–21). Joshua therefore carries the line of the old Jerusalem high priesthood.

  4. Haggai 2:2 יְהוֹצָדָ֖ק Jehozadak

“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,

Here: Joshua's father, the priest deported to Babylon in 586 BC (1 Chr 6:15); the name means “the LORD is righteous.” Joshua represents unbroken continuity of the priestly line across the exile.

  5. Haggai 2:4 יְהוֹצָדָק֩ Jehozadak

But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.

Here: "YHWH is righteous". The father of Joshua. He was taken into exile when Jerusalem fell (1 Chr 6:15). Naming him links the restored priesthood to the line of priests from before the exile.

Zechariah · 1
  1. Zechariah 6:11 יְהוֹצָדָ֖ק Jehozadak

Take silver and gold, make an ornate crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak.
