Exodus 20:5 רִבֵּעִ֖ים a fourth generation
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Here: Literally 'fourths'. The great-great-grandchildren, the youngest generation an old patriarch might live to see. Together with the 'thirds' this covers a whole living household.

Exodus 34:7 רִבֵּעִֽים׃ a fourth generation
maintaining loving devotion to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers on their children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”
Here: "Fourth-generation ones." Three or four generations is about as many as could be alive in one household at once. That is the outer limit of the reach of guilt, against "thousands" for loyal love.

Numbers 14:18 רִבֵּעִֽים׃ a fourth generation
‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion, forgiving iniquity and transgression. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon their children to the third and fourth generation.’
Here: 'Fourths': great-grandchildren. That is about as far as one living household could reach, since a long-lived patriarch might see great-grandchildren under his roof (compare Genesis 50:23; Job 42:16). The span is limited, set against God's loyal love, which elsewhere reaches 'thousands' (Exodus 34:7; 20:6).

Deuteronomy 5:9 רִבֵּעִ֖ים a fourth generation
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Here: Members of the fourth generation, in effect great-grandchildren: roughly the most generations one patriarch could see alive in his own household.
