Against the English

English versions just transliterate it as 'Rezon'. The Greek tradition varies (Esrōm in Vaticanus).

Used elsewhere in the period

Rezon does not appear outside the Bible. 1 Kings 15:18 gives the line of the Damascus kings as 'Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion', and some scholars identify Hezion with Rezon. Rezin, the later king of Damascus (2 Kgs 16), has a similar but separate name (Aramaic Raḍyān).
