Matthew 1:5 Ἰεσσαί· Jesse;
Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
Here: The Bethlehemite father of David (1 Sam 16). In the prophets, 'the stump/root of Jesse' (Isa 11:1, 10) was already a picture of the coming royal Messiah, so naming him points straight to verse 6: 'David the king.'

Matthew 1:6 Ἰεσσαὶ Jesse
and Jesse the father of David the king. Next: David was the father of Solomon by Uriah’s wife,
Here: Jesse of Bethlehem, son of Obed and grandson of Ruth and Boaz (Ruth 4:17–22). His name may also call to mind Isaiah's promised "shoot from the stump of Jesse" (Isa 11:1), a royal-messianic image.
Luke · 1

Luke 3:32 Ἰεσσαὶ of Jesse
the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Sala, the son of Nahshon,

Acts 13:22 Ἰεσσαί, Jesse
After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart; he will carry out My will in its entirety.’
Here: David's father, a Bethlehem farmer. Naming him recalls David's humble start (1 Sam 16) and the messianic 'shoot from the stump of Jesse' (Isa 11:1, 10). Paul quotes that Isaiah line elsewhere (Rom 15:12).

Romans 15:12 Ἰεσσαί, of Jesse,
And once more, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will put their hope.”
Here: David's father, a Bethlehem farmer. Naming Jesse instead of David points behind the royal dynasty to its humble beginning: God will start again from the stump, as he did when he first picked David.
