Isaiah 1:17 חָמ֑וֹץ [the] oppressor
Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.”
Here: This word appears only here in the Bible. The vowels as written mark someone who does something: 'the ruthless one, the oppressor,' related to ḥômēṣ, 'ruthless man,' in Psalm 71:4. Ancient translators read it as 'the one wronged.' Either way the line deals with the oppression of the weak by the strong.
