Here: 'The Ahohite' is a clan name, probably from Ahoah, a Benjaminite (1 Chr 8:4). The same clan label is attached to Eleazar (11:12) and to Zalmon/Ilai (2 Sam 23:28; 1 Chr 11:29) in the lists of David's warriors.
