  2. Ezra 5:8 אֲזַ֜לְנָא we went

Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God. The people are rebuilding it with large stones and placing timbers in the walls. This work is being carried out diligently and is prospering in their hands.

Here: 'We went'. The writers say they inspected the site in person (cf. 5:3). That gives the report the weight of an eyewitness account.

  3. Ezra 5:15 אֵֽזֶל־ go!

and instructed, ‘Take these articles, put them in the temple in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be rebuilt on its original site.’

Here: A command, 'go'. It authorizes the journey from Babylon to Jerusalem.

Daniel · 4

Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

  2. Daniel 2:24 אֲזַ֣ל׀ he went

Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting. No entertainment was brought before him, and sleep fled from him.

  4. Daniel 6:19 אֲזַֽל׃ he went

At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the den of lions.

Here: 'He went', a plain completed action. It closes the sentence and echoes v. 18, where 'the king went to his palace' uses the same verb. The king who went home in despair now goes back to the pit.
